First French edition of the famous publication. 3 full page text engravings and 59 numb. engr. plates. Contemp. calf. with rich gilt decoration. - Slightly foxing, partly somewhat stronger, plate II with marginal tear of about 3 cm, plates XXXIX to XLVII slightly bumped in left margin and with small tear. Edes rubbed, spine and joints renewed.
